Villa Montalvo’s historic stained glass window, depicting Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo’s galleon the San Salvador, was the vision that sparked Munro to propose an entire exhibition responding to the Narnia series. His childhood copy of Voyage of the Dawn Treader—which was the first book of the Narnia series the artist ever read—had a similar galleon on its cover. He took some artistic license and transformed the historic window with a psychedelic projection that animates the galleon for visitors to witness.
