Location: Love Temple
In the historic structure at the base of Montalvo’s Italianate Garden—a site known as the Love Temple—sits an ornate marble fountain surrounded by four satyr-like gargoyles. Munro chose this as the location to create a ceremonial, ever-flowing fountain (of wine) in celebration of Bacchus and his retinue who bring the trees and the animals of old Narnia back to life after they had been driven into hibernation by the invading Telmarines in C.S. Lewis’s book Prince Caspian.
