3 Cheers for Tales from
Glen & Les Charles,
Armistead Maupin
Glen Charles, Les Charles, & Armistead Maupin

Our distinguished Writers Series continues in April with two exciting events featuring legends in the business in conversation with author Katherine Maxfield.

JUST ADDED: Glen and Les Charles, brothers and co-creators of the award-winning comedy shows Cheers and Taxi, will join us for an exclusive event on Wednesday, April 6, at 7pm.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to see two of the greatest comedy writers of their generation as they tell hilarious stories about the TV stars you grew up watching and their lives in show business. These two do not normally make appearances together like this—it's a special occasion for a Montalvo audience only!

After the conversation, you'll even have a chance to meet Glen & Les as we move to the historic Villa for a reception featuring light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

On Sunday, April 24, at 3pm, acclaimed author Armistead Maupin, creator of Tales of the City, comes to Montalvo to discuss his life and his many accomplishments in literature, theater, and music.

Launched in 1976 as a groundbreaking serial in the San Francisco Chronicle, Tales of the City blazed a trail through popular culture—from best-selling novels, to a Peabody Award-winning television miniseries, to an ambitious musical production. The series now encompasses eight books with more than six million copies in print.

Maxfield will explore Maupin's influences and inspirations with her accessible yet probing interview style. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Don't miss these fabulous events in our intimate Carriage House Theatre—where there isn't a bad seat in the house! Just click below to purchase your tickets or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Sir Paul

The McCartney Years

There are many Beatles tribute bands, but there’s only one that celebrates the genius of Paul McCartney at the height of his career: The McCartney Years, coming to Montalvo on Saturday, February 20, at 8pm.

This period-true, sonically explosive homage to one of the greatest rock talents of the 20th century will have you on your feet cheering for more.

Expect to hear all of your favorite hits, from “Maybe I'm Amazed” to “Let it Be” to “Get Back.” This troupe of talented musicians will put on a show that's up to the same concert standards set by Sir Paul himself. Even former Beatles promoter Sid Bernstein says they're "the best on the scene today."

Marcus Roberts is the
"genius of modern piano"
Marcus Roberts Trio

Wynton Marsalis calls him "the greatest American musician most people have never heard of." Come hear jazz paragon Marcus Roberts and his trio on Friday, February 12, at 8pm when he performs live at Montalvo.

Though he lost his sight as a child, Roberts's striking musical insight has profoundly influenced and inspired a generation of American jazz musicians.
With Rodney Jordon on bass and Jason Marsalis on the drums, his trio will dazzle you with their sophisticated, virtuosic style.

Start the evening off with style by adding Bistro Montalvo, our elegant pre-show dinner in the historic Villa. It's a great way to make your concert night complete!
