Three cheers for volunteers!

Last night, dozens of Montalvo volunteers gathered in the historic Villa to mingle, eat, and be merry as we honored all of the hard work they do for us!

We depend on our dedicated volunteer crew for everything from staffing events to planting flowers in the gardens to manning the gallery and front desk. And with the help of a generous donation of dinner from the Camden Park Pasta Pomodoro in San Jose, we were able to give a little something back in thanks.

Would you like to be a volunteer? We're always looking for the help and expertise of community members just like you, and we can work with your schedule to find the perfect role. Just email us at or visit for more info.

Everything That Happens

Join us on Saturday, October 26, at 7:30pm, for a remarkable video and choral performance in the intimate Carriage House Theatre entitled Everything that happens.

The work is based on descriptions of the firing synapses in the brain by neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux. Choral singers will use a unique system of sounds and breathing patterns to make music without a traditional score. Video and text projections weave in and out of the performance, drawing connections between what you see and what you hear.

Everything that happens is part of artist Nene Humphrey’s Circling the Center, an ongoing series of multimedia works that explore the science of emotions. This iteration is co-created by Humphrey’s collaborator Roberto C. Lange and performed by the Cantabile Youth Singers of Silicon Valley, under the artistic direction of Elena Sharkova.

A Q & A with the artists will follow the performance.

Tickets to this one-of-a-kind evening are just $20 ($15 for Members); $8 for students with a valid ID. Click below to purachase or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
