Winter Camps
February 16-20

Montalvo Camps!

Do your kids have a break in February after Presidents Day Weekend (February 16-20)? If they do—and you still don't know what to do with them—now is the time to sign them up for one of our exciting, educational, and fun Winter Camps while there's still space available!

Our camps are taught by professional artists and educators, and they give students a chance to experience project-based learning in a unique, creative environment.

• Ages 6-8: 9am-12pm
• Ages 9 & up: 1-4pm
Students will learn about materials, design, and engineering as they construct a vessel that can both float across a moat and glide through the sky. In just five days, campers will design a prototype, test it, and create a machine of their very own!

• Ages 6-8: 1-4pm
• Ages 9 & up: 9am-12pm
A mix of cooking and crafts make this class a hands-on feast of fun suitable for all ages! Follow recipes, learn about nutrition and hospitality, and make lots of tasty treats to take home to share.

Each camp session is just $195 per student. Morning and afternoon care is also available. Click here for more information.

Montalvo is a member-supported
non-profit organization
dedicated to the arts.

Thanks for all of your support in 2014!

Thank You from Montalvo!

We want to give a big shout out to everyone who supported Montalvo in 2014, whether through membership, foundation grants,  donations, in-kind gifts, ticket purchases, or just telling your friends about the great work we're doing. Every bit of it means so much to us, and we can't make our programs happen without you.

Our year-end fundraising campaign brought in an amazing 208 donations and surpassed our goal with a total of over $250,000 raised. These gifts will allow us to continue to provide world-class programming and arts education to the community in 2015 and beyond.

Remember, you can still help! If you'd like to start off the New Year with a little extra generosity, simply click the big blue button below. Gifts of any amount—even just $10—can help, and they're tax-deductible no matter when you give.

Again, THANK YOU so much, and here's to a fabulous 2015!

Literary series authors making headlines

Our recently-launched series of literary events is off to a great start, and those who attended in 2014 had an opportunity to see and hear from writers who were on the cusp of national media attention.

In September, Alix Christie held a reading and engaged in a fascinating conversation about her debut novel, Gutenberg's Apprentice. Click here to see her book's subsequent review in The New York Times.

As the year came to a close, Chez Panisse chef Cal Peternell's Twelve Recipes was listed in The New York Times as one of the best cookbooks of 2014. At his book signing in November, guests were treated to tasty hors d'oeuvres prepared by Peternell himself.

Up next in the series, join us in the historic Villa on Wednesday, January 28, from 11:30am-1:30pm, for a luncheon with Jan Ellison. The award-winning writer will discuss her remarkable debut novel A Small Indiscretion with fellow author Katherine Maxfield. Lunch is included, and books will be available for purchase.
