Soil to Site, featuring works by Richard T. Walker, Mari Andrews, and Sean McFarland, is on view through this Sunday, January 15. If you haven't had a chance to see the exhibition, be sure to visit the Project Space Gallery this weekend!
Soil to Site examines some of the complex relationships between culture and nature through the works of three very different artists. Click here to read a wonderful review of the exhibition at SquareCylinder!

Montalvo celebrates its Centennial in 2012, and to honor the anniversary, we will present a new exhibition, O' Great Reverie: Montalvo 1912-2012, opening on Friday, January 27. This exhibition - organized by Montalvo Associate Curator Donna Conwell and Lucas Artist Program Design Fellows Scott Barry and Neil Doshi - serves as both a historical timeline and a unique art installation.
Through archival materials and new works that explore how history is refracted through the prism of the present, O' Great Reverie invites questions about the preservation of the past and its influence on Montalvo's future.
The artists will be present at a FREE Opening Reception on January 27 at 7pm, and will offer a series of talks entitled The Chit-Chat Club over the coming months to expand on the ideas presented in the exhibition. In addition, on Saturday, January 28, the O' Great Reverie opening extends into the weekend with an afternoon of FREE events that pay homage to Montalvo's past and present.
Come early on January 27 at 6pm to join composer George Tsontakis for Final Fridays in the historic Villa, where he will discuss a new project he is developing in response to Going Forth By Day, a video work by Bill Viola. Montalvo Members are also invited to a wine reception in the Phelan Library from 5:30-6pm.

Eric Bibb heats up Montalvo
Eric Bibb performs
"Don't Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down"
"Smooth, subtle, soulful and sophisticated, his is a beautiful and moving take on classic, coolly laidback acoustic blues." -Time Out New York
Our Carriage House Theatre concert series continues on Saturday, February 4, at 8pm, with Grammy-nominated bluesman Eric Bibb.
Hailed by critics as "a total original," Bibb's creative work occupies the fertile intersection between blues and folk music. He may be, according to Billboard, "the quietest blues player out there," but this more restrained approach allows his smoky, warm voice and precise finger work to shine. In addition to his two Grammy nominations, he has been honored by the Blues Foundation and his music has been featured on numerous British and American television shows.
Don't miss this outstanding, one-of-a-kind performer in the intimate setting of the Carriage House Theatre. Purchase tickets online today or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
