"[Kalhor is] a master of the kamancheh"

                          -The New York Times

Join us on Wednesday, October 24, at 7:30pm, as we present two masters of Persian Music, Kayhan Kalhor and Behrouz Jamali, as they perform A Night of Rumi and Persian Classical Music.

Rumi was a 13th century Persian poet and musician, and one of Iran's most treasured artists. Kayhan Kalhor, a founder of the popular Masters of Persian Music group, has been studying and performing classical Kurdish and Persian music on the Iraninan kamancheh for more than 40 years. He has also composed works for Indian sitar player Shujaat Husain Khan and collaborated with Yo Yo Ma, Kronos Quartet, and others. Behrouz Jamali is a talented member of a new generation of Persian musicians.

Together, they will read and interpret many of Rumi's beloved works, creating a beautiful evening of music and poetry in the intimate, 300-seat Carriage House Theatre. Don't miss this riveting performance. Masters of Persian Music SOLD OUT at Montalvo two years ago, so buy your tickets NOW and don't be disappointed!
