Open Access: Creekside Celebration & Student Art Tour

Join us as we celebrate a new addition to our Creekside Studios with a special Open Access event this Friday, June 26, from 5-9pm!

The evening begins at our newly-expanded Creekside Studios with delicious tacos and wine & beer for purchase. Mingle with artists, art-lovers, teachers, and families from our innovative Summer Camp offerings. You'll get a first look at some of the upcoming programming in the exciting new studio space, which will be a venue for classes and camps, as well as an area for Lucas Artists Program resident artists to engage with the public.

At 6pm, we'll depart on a walking tour of the grounds, visiting the final projects of the campers in our Eco-Engineering, Fortitude, and Out on a Limb camps—and more.

At 7pm, we'll return to Creekside to enjoy a live musical performance by bluegrass/americana band The Naked Bootleggers and open studios at our Lucas Artists Residency.

So come hungry, bring your walking shoes, and be ready to have a fabulous, family-friendly evening! Tickets are just $10 (free for Montalvo members); purchase by clicking below, or pay at the check-in table when you arrive. And why not bring some friends? Just RSVP on Facebook and click "invite" to get a group to join the fun.

Act out! 2 great
performing arts camps

Performing Arts Cemps

Is your child an imaginative performer? A lover of literature? A budding singer/songwriter? A slayer of the undead? If so, we've got some great upcoming performing arts camps that he or she will be all about.

July 13-17
9am-4pm (ages 8-14)
Ghosts, witches, and spirits abound in Shakespeare's writing. This class brings them to life! Campers will learn about Shakespearean speech, costumes, and stage make-up, then perform at the end of the week in a showcase of monologues and ensemble scenes for friends and family.

August 3-7
9am-12pm (ages 8-14) or 1-4pm (ages 6-14)
Students will build their musical theatre skills while developing scenes, practicing choreographed routines, and singing pop hits—just like the characters on Glee. This fun week is packed with music, dancing, and laughs, and it culminates with a showcase performance for friends and family.
