News flash: Our last concert
of the summer will rock

Our fabulous 2013 outdoor Summer Concert Series is coming to an end this month, but we aren't going out quietly: the legendary Blondie will take the stage on Friday, September 20, for a rock show that will bring you to your feet!

Best known for hits like "One Way or Another" and "Heart of Glass," Blondie has continued to tour and release new music for more than 35 years. Their new album, Panic of Girls, proves they've still got it. And you're sure to hear a few of your old favorites, too.

Opening for Blondie is X. These early-era punk rockers influenced an entire generation of musicians; both of their studio albums appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This concert is sure to be a night to remember! So, make it even more memorable: when you get your tickets, add Dining on the Terrace. Our elegant pre-concert buffet-style dinner lets you warm up with a delicious meal in the historic Villa before you find your seat and get your groove on.

Sound like fun? You bet it does. Purchase your tickets now before they're gone - and we'll see you at the show!

The beautiful Lilian Fontaine Garden Theatre is the perfect place for a summer concert. Don't miss the last one of the year!

Celebrate Ginnever's Rashomon with a screening
of Kurosawa's

Kurosawa's Rashomon
Chuck Ginnever's Rashomon (top) was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's 1950 film Rashomon (bottom).

Join us on Friday, September 27, at 6pm, for a FREE Final Fridays art party! This month, we're having one last send-off to our 2013 Art on the Grounds, including Chuck Ginnever's Rashomon on the Great Lawn.

The evening will include art activities, food trucks, and a panel discussion about Rashomon and the film that inspired it - followed by a screening of the film in the Carriage House Theatre.

Directed by Akira Kurosawa, the acclaimed psychological drama Rashomon is widely considered one of the greatest films of all time. Like Ginnever's work, it investigates the subjective nature of reality and truth. The panel will bring experts from the art world and the film world together to discuss the importance of these themes in our culture and society.

Ginnever's Rashomon will be leaving the lawn in early October, so this may be your last chance to see it! (Although if you'd like to own the piece, it's for sale. Interested? Contact Kelly Sicat.)

Coming to the party? Don't forget to RSVP on Facebook and invite your friends to join you! Movies are always better with friends. See you there!
