  • Tuesday, November 7 (Grades K-5): Coyotes and Rabbits
Narrated by two rabbits, a young coyote discovers the importance of education when his attempts to learn to read are thwarted by his cousin. This classic Mexican folktale is retold as a bilingual children’s opera. Presented by Hector Armienta and Opera Cultura
  • Tuesday, January 30 (Grades K-5): Alphabet Rockers

  • Monday, April 30 (Grades 3-6): The Red Altar Project: Stories of Immigration, Migrations, and Journeys
In 1850, six teenagers crossed the ocean from China, crashed in the Carmel Bay, and began the fishing industry in the Monterey area all in the face of violent anti-Chinese sentiment. Seven generations later, their story of hope and overcoming obstacles is finally being told. Presented by Eth-Noh-Tec.
  • Thursday, May 10 (Grades K-5): Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site

Celebrate National Wine Day!
National Wine Day!

Did you know that today (May 25) is National Wine Day? Although Montalvo isn't a winery, we still have two great ways to celebrate the occasion: while you're pouring your loved one a glass, let them know you've reserved seats at our elegant Farm to Fork dinner or bought them a ticket to our fabulous Food & Wine Classic!

Benefiting Montalvo's arts and education programs, Farm to Fork (Tuesday, June 6 at 6pm) will be an unforgettable culinary experience: the event will begin with a sumptuous cocktail reception, followed by a three-course dinner which will be paired with fine wine selections from Domaine Eden and Mount Eden Vineyards. And as the Official Sponsor, Ermenegildo Zegna will offer attendees outfit curation services for the entire summer.

Find That Painting You've Been Looking For
at Los Gatos Plein Air June 16-17

Los Gatos Plein Air 2017

This June, 34 nationally renowned artists will paint outdoors for four days in and around Los Gatos as part of a fundraiser that supports several Santa Clara County non-profits (including Montalvo). These painting activities will culminate on Saturday, June 17 from 11am-5pm with a fine art exhibition, sale, and festival in downtown Los Gatos.

Los Gatos Plein Air brings nationally-recognized artists to Los Gatos to paint en plein air, a 19th century style of painting "in the open air" on location. Los Gatos Plein Air has become a much-anticipated community-wide event -- and remains the only major Plein Air event in the South Bay.

Proceeds from the auction and the sale of artwork go to support programs for local youth by organizations including Montalvo, New Museum Los Gatos, Art Docents of Los Gatos, Los Gatos Music & Arts, and Lighting for Literacy. It's a great cause, so come out and support the arts and your community!

More information about the event and tickets to the VIP Artists Reception & Silent Auction on June 16 are available through the link below.
