Who's in the Artists Residency?
Lucas Artist Fellow Henry Threadgill

Our Sally and Don Lucas Artists Program (LAP) is designed to offer artists from a range of disciplines an environment conducive to individual and collaborative creative practice. Lucas Artists Fellows are identified through an international nomination process that ensures support for highly qualified artists who have the potential to become major voices in the next generation of creative thinkers. Right now, we are hosting an impressive group of highly respected artists, many of whom you can see and engage with at upcoming events!

Howard Hersh is an award-winning composer and musician whose newest work Four Bridges will premiere on Montalvo's grounds at a special Open Access event on Sunday, April 29 at 2pm.

Danez SmithMonica Sok, and Julian Talamantez Brolaski are poets who will perform as part of our Open Access event Don't Look Away along with Will Calhoun -- a two-time Grammy winning musician and co-founding member of the rock band Living Colour -- on Friday, February 23 at 7pm.

Henry Threadgill is a Pulitzer Prize winning jazz musician. He has recently assembled the Threadgill-Iyer-Prieto Trio to perform a concert in our Carriage House Theatre on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:30pm.

Lin, Janice Lobo Sapigao, and Cintia Santana.
