Opening Celebration tomorrow

Now Hear This!

It's almost here! The opening celebration of our newest outdoor exhibition,
Now Hear This!, debuts in spectacular fashion tomorrow (Friday, July 21 from 6-10pm) with a festival taking place throughout our beautiful grounds.

Featuring five newly commissioned site-specific sound-based artworks that will be
installed across the property for the summer, as well as additional one-night-only sonic experiences, the opening will truly be a night to remember. You'll also experience the launch of Soundings, an immersive musical experience available for download through the mobile app Detour that brings the concert stage to the great outdoors.

Before you come, you can download PDFs of the exhibition program, a guide to the evening's events, and more information about Deep Listening with Pauline -- a series of activities that will take place over the course of the night. Then take a look at this great article about the exhibition and festival in the Saratoga News.

The event -- which is similar to previous years' Rock the Garden festivals -- is FREE, with free shuttles available from West Valley College. Come for the evening, enjoy a meal at one of the on-site gourmet food trucks, participate in art making activities, and have an evening to remember. RSVP through the button below or via Facebook here (be sure to invite your friends!).

Coming up on Tuesday, August 29 at 7:30pm, join us when Michael Krasny, host of KQED's Forum, switches roles from interviewer to interviewee as he speaks about his latest publication, Let There Be Laughter
The book is a compendium of Jewish jokes that packs punch after hilarious punch while offering a window into Jewish culture.
