Get excited for Gruffalo's Child & Peter and the Wolf

Gruffalo's Child & Peter and the Wolf

Fun for both kids and their parents, our Family Theatre Series invites you to experience diverse and stimulating performances that introduce kids to new forms of storytelling. The last two shows of the spring are Gruffalo's Child (this Sunday, April 12, at 11am & 1pm), and Peter and the Wolf (Saturday, May 9, at 11am & 1pm).

Gruffalo's Child, presented by Tall Stories Theater Company, is based on the bestselling children's book of the same name. Amazing costumes, delightful music, and elaborate sets bring to life this story of a young monster and her magical adventure. Don't miss it!

Peter and the Wolf, presented by the Fratello Marionettes, brings the classic story—accompanied by the majestic score of Sergei Prokofiev—to the stage through gorgeous, handcrafted marionettes. Kids will marvel at the lifelike puppetry, and they just might come away with a new appreciation for classical music.

Make a day of it: For each show date, you and your family can join us at 12pm for art activities and light refreshments! While you're here, take the opportunity to explore Montalvo's beautiful grounds, gardens, and gallery.

Tickets (just $20 for adults and $10 for kids) are still available for both productions. Click below or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Employer match

All smiles for employer matching

Did you know that many companies offer matching gift programs that increase the impact of their employees’ donations?

If your workplace has such a program, a gift to Montalvo may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies may also match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses. Click below to search for your company and see if you qualify.

will my gift be matched? >>

If you are eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, complete and sign, then send it with your gift. We'll take care of the rest. No results? Your company may still have a matching program. Please contact your HR department to find out.

Fun Summer Camps:
Video Art

Video Art: Visual Haiku

Are you a parent in search of some camp ideas that will keep your child engaged and excited this summer? Montalvo has an amazing lineup of Summer Camps for just about every interest.

Take Video Art: Visual Haiku. Running from June 8-12 for ages 9 & up, this camp will give your child a handle on using video in creative ways. Chances are they're already shooting Vines on their smartphones, so why not give them the tools to make their videos stand out?

Taught by professional multimedia artist (and former Lucas Artists Residency fellow) Justin Lowman, this camp will teach students to express their point of view through videos that they will frame, shoot, and edit themselves. Experimenting as individuals and groups, campers will learn about both the artistic and technical aspects of film.

And remember, we've got a huge variety of Summer Camps that range from science to theatre, from writing to painting, from gardening to learning how to be a spy. Check out the full list by clicking here.
