Last chance
for Reduced Shakespeare

Reduced Shakespeare Company

“Breathlessly-paced slapstick merriment” — The New York Times

They've skewed history, the Bible, and the world's most celebrated playwright. Now, the “Bad Boys of Abridgment,” the Reduced Shakespeare Company, are back with The Complete History of Comedy (Abridged) next Wednesday, May 11, at 7:30pm in our Carriage House Theatre.

Using humor that ranges from the high-brow to the low, this hilarious new show tackles the evolution of comedy through the ages, covering Aristophanes, Shakespeare, Charlie Chaplin, The Daily Show, and plenty more. It’s the topic they were born to reduce!

In their own words: “Tickets to The Complete History of Comedy (Abridged) are far more affordable than tickets to an amusement park, but you’ll come away with the same feeling of nausea and motion sickness!”

Tickets still remain, but time is running out to get yours! Click below or call the box office at 408-961-5858.

Juan Jaula es John Cage
Musician's work reimagined in film screening & conversation May 13

Juan Jaula es John Cage

Join us for an evening film screening in our Carriage House Theatre on Friday, May 13, from 6-9pm. The movie, Juan Jaula es John Cage, is a fascinating, non-traditional documentary made by video artist Zen Cohen.

The 40-minute film documents Mexican composer Guillermo Galindo’s confrontation of his musical heritage and education against taboos of the musical “avant-garde” by rehearsing with a Mariachi band to perform a John Cage score. It debuted last year at the de Young Museum in San Francisco.

After the screening, enjoy a conversation with Cohen and Galindo led by Bay Area curator Julie Lazar. You'll also have a chance to meet the artists over a glass of wine in a reception following the event.

For more information about this exciting project and to watch a preview of the film, visit Cohen's website here
Tickets to this Open Access event are just $10, $5 for students, and FREE for Montalvo members. Click below to purchase or call the box office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
