Due to concerns around the COVID-19 outbreak, Santa Clara County and other counties in the Bay Area have issued a "Shelter In Place" ordinance, which is in effect through April 7. The CDC has also issued a recommendation to restrict public gatherings for eight weeks.
As a result, and with the safety of our community as our utmost concern, we are postponing or canceling all concerts, classes, and public events through May 31. Our goal is to reschedule as many of these events as possible; if you have a ticket for an event happening during this timeframe, you will receive further information via email.
The county ordinance permits outdoor activities including walking and hiking, so we will remain open in our capacity as a 175-acre public park, including all trails and gardens, from 9am-5pm daily. If you are able to do so safely, I sincerely hope a visit to Montalvo can be an opportunity for solace and meditation during this challenging time.
Meanwhile, while my colleagues and I are sheltering in place together, be assured that we’re also incubating around our mission of engaging our community in the creative process, so stay tuned for some art surprises soon!
Please be assured that we will continually monitor the situation, and will provide necessary updates as new information is learned. I am grateful for your trust and patience as we navigate the implications of this unprecedented situation.
