Learn Hawaiian Dance, Japanese Florals
Upcoming Classes: Hawaiian Dance & Ikebana

Expand your horizons and learn a new creative skill by joining two fun classes coming up in our historic Villa: Hawaiian Dance and Art on Wednesday, April 4 at 6pm and Ikebana Everlasting on Sunday, April 8 at 10:30am.

Hula is an integral part of the Hawaiian culture, used to pass down knowledge from one generation to the next. In our Hawaiian Dance and Art class, you will work with instructor Kauʻi Isa-Kahaku to learn to dance a hula -- as well as the history and meaning behind it. A fun Hawaiian art activity will also be included.

Longtime ikebana instructor Yuko Tiernan teaches Japanese floral arrangement in our Ikebana Everlasting class. A centuries-old art form, ikebana calms the spirit, focuses the mind, and teaches the eye to identify beauty in the details of the natural world. In this workshop, participants will create arrangements using natural dry branches and life-like artificial flowers made in Japan. Great for both newcomers and returning students!
