Who is OneBeat?
Exciting musical collaboration launches with October 19 festival

OneBeat 2014

Join us on Sunday, October 19, from 11am-4pm, for an extraordinary musical event featuring OneBeat! These young musicians (ages 19-35) have been brought together from around the world through an international cultural exchange initiative and are staying at Montalvo as they collaboratively write and produce their own original music.

The day's program will feature small group performances staged throughout the grounds and buildings that showcase unique new works created during the performers' month-long stay at the Lucas Artists Residency Program. Guests will have a chance to mingle among the musicians as they perform, explore the gardens and Art on the Grounds, and enjoy food, beer, and wine. At the end of the afternoon, the entire OneBeat ensemble will gather for a culminating performance in the beautiful outdoor Garden Theatre.

This is sure to be a fun, one-of-a-kind experience, so bring your friends: click below to RSVP on Facebook, then send out an invitation to anyone who loves music and Montalvo!

Wanda Sykes and Natalie Cole

Two performances remain in our 2014 Summer Concert Series in the outdoor Lilian Fontaine Garden Theatre: a hilarious comedy show by the one and only Wanda Sykes, and an unforgettable evening of soulful music with the lovely Natalie Cole.

Sykes was rated by Entertainment Weekly as one of the 25 funniest people in America. Her smart-witted stand-up has sent her career in many different areas, including film, TV, and a late-night talk show. She will make you laugh on Friday, September 12, at 8pm.

Cole has been performing since the age of 11 when she began taking the stage with her father Nat King Cole. In her illustrious career, she has been nominated for 29 Grammys. She performs on Thursday, September 18, at 8pm.
