Possibilities of Paper
Join us this Friday, February 27, at 6pm as we celebrate the opening of our new exhibition, Possibilities of Paper: Select Works by Lucas Artists Fellows (2005-15).
The evening begins with an exciting performance by artists Nehara Kalev and Thea Farhadian, followed by a conversation with Lucas Artists Program (LAP) Fellows about the role an artists residency plays as a creative incubator, and a family-friendly paper-making workshop.
At 7pm, guests will move into the Project Space Gallery to view the works, mingle, enjoy food and drink, and get to know the artists.
With over 30 works, Possibilities of Paper demonstrates the diverse and innovative ways that LAP Fellows have used paper as a vehicle for creative expression. It features highlights from the LAPs extensive collection of works on paper by its fellows, as well as new commissions and works on loan.
Please RSVP on Facebook through the link below, and invite your art-loving friends! Suggested donation is $10.

Montalvo is a member-supported
dedicated to the arts.
In 2015, we commemorate the inauguration of an artists residency at Montalvo 75 years ago and the 10-year anniversary of the Sally and Don Lucas Artists Program.
Montalvo is home to the oldest artists residency west of the Mississippi. It first opened its doors in 1939 and since then, over 1,000 artists have spent time here honing their practices and producing culturally significant works of art.
In 2005, the new, architecturally distinguished Sally and Don Lucas Artists Program (LAP) opened. Stimulating an energetic exchange of ideas between fellows across varied artistic fields, the LAP has garnered international recognition for its support of new and challenging contemporary artwork.
Join us throughout the year as we offer programs and events that celebrate the residency and the artists who have come through over the years.
