Handmade Pottery

If you've ever wanted to create your own pots, plates, mugs, and bowls, our October Handbuilt Pottery class is the perfect opportunity to get started!

Pinch, coil, and slap pots are just some of the styles you will learn. Finishing techniques from the unpredictable and extraordinary-looking raku style to more traditional glass-based glazing will also be covered, allowing budding ceramicists to let their imaginations go wild. Take home your creations and show them off to your friends!

Classes take place every Thursday in October from 3:30-5:30pm, and are instructed by Montalvo's own Education Manager Charlee Wagner - herself an accomplished ceramicist. All ages are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult registered for class). A materials fee at registration provides 25lbs of clay, plus glaze and all other necessary supplies.

Henry & Mudge

Join us on Saturday, November 9, with the warmhearted tale of Henry and Mudge, the first in our 2013-14 Family Theatre Series! This delightful Theatreworks production is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant.

Young city slicker Henry just moved to a new town, and he's having trouble making friends. Luckily, he finds Mudge, a 182-pound dog with whom he can share all kinds of adventures! But soon, Henry discovers that having a pet is a big responsibility: they need to be fed, taken out for walks, and they need lots of care. The two companions' friendship is threatened when Henry runs away into the woods. Will they be reunited?

There are two performances to choose from, and if your child enjoys the stories, the original books will be for sale at the show thanks to our friends at Hicklebee's! Click below to purchase your tickets today, or call the Box Office at 408-961-5858 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
