See Particles one last time at Open Access
Join us this Friday, May 28, at 6pm for a special Open Access event: the closing reception of James Gouldthorpe's Particles: A Painting in Ten Chapters, on view in the Project Space Gallery until Sunday, May 29.
You'll have the opportunity to meet and chat with Gouldthorpe as he leads a tour of the showand as a special treat, newly-selected LAP Fellow Matthew Petty, a musician, composer, and video artist, will perform. He will be joined by Jessica Washburn, an Oakland-based Culinary Fellow turned Artist Fellow, who will read a selection of her poems in response to themes raised by the exhibition.
Want a little extra insight about Particles? Poet and former LAP Fellow Linda Lancione also wrote a poetic response to Gouldthorpe's exhibition. Read these poems and learn more about these works (as well as other activity in our Lucas Artists Residency Program) on our Open Access blog.
We hope to see you Friday as we enjoy an exciting ending to a wonderful show. Delicious, fresh tacos will be available for purchase, as will beer, wine, and soda. RSVP to this free event below, and invite some friends to enjoy an evening at Montalvo!
