Join The Marianas*
for three workshops
beginning this Saturday!


Historical Fabrications In the upcoming weeks, you are invited to join artists Stephanie Syjuco and Michael Arcega, also known as The Marianas*, for three fun and engaging workshops in the Project Space Gallery. These FREE workshops are part of their exhibition Montalvo Historical Fabrications & Souvenirs (A Pop-Up Shop)Meet and talk to Stephanie and Michael about their art, about Montalvo, or about whatever else strikes you!


The first workshop is coming up this Saturday, June 9, from 1-3pm. Be a part of the creation of the historic "mementos" sold in the shop as you work with the artists on their pieces. No specific skills are required, and all visitors are welcome to drop in! 


Workshops will continue on Saturday, June 23, from 1-3pm, Michael will give a history of piñatas and teach piñata-making techniques. And on Saturday, July 7, from 1-3pm, the artists will lead an expedition across Montalvo's grounds to find personalized mementos which guests can use to create custom art pieces.


Workshops are free and open to all ages (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult). Sign-ups are strongly encouraged; RSVP by email to


The exhibition/shop by The Marianas* will be open and on view through July 20.



Summer Camp profile:
Introduction to Painting

Does your child love to draw and color? If so, he or she might be ready for our Introduction to Painting summer arts camp, which runs from June 18-22!


Students in this camp will be introduced to basic painting techniques, with an emphasis on understanding key elements of visual art. They will create their own works, using famous paintings and artists, music, and Montalvo's beautiful surroundings as sources of inspiration. Lessons will cover the concepts of line, color, shape, patterns, and texture. Classes are taught by artist Caitlin Woodstock, and are available in two time slots: 9am-Noon (ages 6-8), or 1-4pm (ages 9-12).

Los Gatos Plein Air

Join Los Gatos Plein Air during the week of June 12-16 for an art exhibition and sale benefiting Montalvo and other community arts organizations!


Beginning on Monday, June 12, artists will arrive in the area and begin painting en plein air (outdoors, depicting the environment in only natural light). These paintings will be sold and auctioned at two events at the end of the week.


Los Gatos Plein AirOn Friday, June 15, at 7pm, the ticketed VIP Artists Reception and Silent Auction will have food, art for auction, and a chance to meet the artists. On Saturday, June 16, from 11am-5pm, a public Fine Art Exhibition and Silent Auction will be held at the Los Gatos Town Plaza, featuring food, wine, music, and plenty of art. The Los Gatos Plein Air events are a great way to celebrate art and our community!

The Wedding of the Century gets underway this Sunday, June 10!


Registration is closed for this beautiful event, but even if you aren't able to attend, you can read about some of the couples who will be here in this great article from the Saratoga News! 


Couples from all over the country will be on hand to renew their vows, including Henry and Betty Haggland, celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary, and nearly 100 others! Look for photos from this one-of-a-kind event on our Facebook page next week; if you're coming, be sure to share your own photos and memories with us during the day!


Docent-Guided Tours of the

Historic Villa and Grounds

every Sunday & Tuesday

Starting on June 17, join us every Sunday and Tuesday at 10am for Docent-Guided Tours of the historic Villa and Montalvo's beautiful grounds!


Our highly-trained docents are fully versed in Montalvo's history, and will entertain you with facts and anecdotes during the two-hour tour. Learn about Montalvo founder Senator James Phelan, his life and his friends, the Villa and Arts Center then and now, and more! 


Tours are FREE for Montalvo Members and one guest; $10 per person for non-members. Space is limited and advance reservations are required. Reserve through the Box Office at 408-961-5858, 10am-4pm Monday-Friday.
