"Laughs, heartbreak, war, regeneration, scented breezes, sparkling wit and the best dog puppet ever. Perfect for children and grown-ups. Terrific." -The Guardian

"Expertly put together and extremely entertaining … This is just a wonderful, enchanting piece of theatre for children or for adults." -British Theatre Guide

"…one of the most touching and effective pieces of children’s theatre I’ve seen for a long time. In fact, it’s the most completely satisfying piece of theatre playing in Sydney right now." –Sydney Morning Herald

This multi-sensory theatrical adaptation of Jean Giono’s environmental classic tells the inspiring story of a shepherd who plants a forest, acorn by acorn, transforming a barren wasteland. As much a touching tale as it is a hilarious puppet show, The Man Who Planted Trees shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world.

Seen in more than eight countries on the stages of New York’s Lincoln Center, the Sydney Opera House, the Edinburgh Fringe Fest 2012 and many more.

Puppet State Theatre Company, based in Edinburgh, was founded by Richard Medrington. After performing his one-man puppet shows for 20 years he joined forces with puppeteer Rick Conte and puppeteer and maker Ailie Cohen in 2006.

Recommended for ages 3-10.
