Wow. That would be so fun to design! What would be the first steps in designing such a place? Who would you talk to? What research would you conduct? What would it take for this garden theme park to truly reflect the cultural and historical heritage and and ideals at the heart of San Jose? Could it be fully green? Where would it be located? I am excited about the possibilities!

I feel that to make this a reality the government needs to help the public by making Clean Technology:
1. Affordable
2. Makes us feel like we are a part of a movement
3. Is just as "good" if not better than what we have now
4. Convenient

A year ago on May 2, Greensburg, Kansas, was totally destroyed by a tornado. Today, they are rebuilding...GREEN! -- Their goal is to create all city buildings that meet the most stringent LEED green standards, and many of the private companies and residences are also building green -- from re-using bricks from destroyed buildings, to building wind turbines in their backyards, to using corn/water/oils to heat their flooring.

Your article really puts this issue in perspective. I really like the idea of the city as a whole deciding we aren't going to use plastic bags anymore. If we made a mountain of all the wasted plastic bags in California alone, how high would it reach? I once had a fleece sweater made from recycled plastic bottles. I wonder what we could make out of all those plastic bags.
